Riku Haruma enrolls in high school with no clear path ahead. He observes others playing as if they were monsters on the ground, leaping higher than anyone else, sprinting at incredible speeds. It is there that he encounters Akira Kariya participating in rugby, a sport that once held great significance for him but which he had abandoned due to his physical limitations. Despite Akira's rough play, Riku offers him some words of encouragement without hesitation. This act reignites Riku's passion for the game and gives him hope for the future.
