Masaki Hinaoka, who grew up near Ooarai in Ibaraki Prefecture, encounters Shou Akitsuki, a transfer student with royal qualities, during the summer break. Through surfing, Masaki befriends people and experiences loss as he matures into adulthood. This marks the start of an endless tale about boys drawn to the allure of surfing.
