In the late 19th century, a brilliant but socially awkward engineer named sorano appare and a wise yet cowardly samurai called isshiki kosame find themselves adrift at sea between japan and america. with no funds, the two decide to participate in the trans-america wild race to earn enough money to return home. along their journey through america, they encounter adversaries, bandits, and obstacles as they race from los angeles to new york in a steam-powered vehicle that they constructed themselves.
