Yoko has her assistant search for something underwater while madoka returns to see the new year at home after struggling with piloting midori again. upon returning, she receives letters from lan and muginami about their lives, which she responds to promptly. as time passes and madoka moves up a year in school, lan and muginami visit an intergalactic version of kamogawa on the tourist planet polyhedron. this takes place between seasons 1 and 2.
