Hino Kahoko is a student who attends a school with two branches: Normal Branch and Music Branch. Students in the Normal Branch wear grey uniforms while those in the Music Branch wear white. The school tradition involves a music competition, but it's more common for students from the Music Branch to participate. One day, Kahoko encounters a fairy named Lili who grants her a magic violin that anyone can play if they truly believe in themselves. Now, Kahoko must face the challenges of the competition, her opponents, and her peers despite not having any musical knowledge prior to this encounter.
