The Bladebreakers are enjoying a much-needed break from their busy schedule. However, an energetic young boy named Daichi is still determined to challenge Tyson to a rematch following his loss in the Beyblade World Championships. Despite their initial enjoyment of relaxation, the group's vacation takes a dark turn when they come across enigmatic Beybladers who claim to be possessed by malevolent spirits sealed within an ancient temple. With Daichi under their control, these Shadow Bladers aim to bring about global destruction through their Dark BitBeasts. It falls upon Tyson, Max, Ray, and Kai to not only rescue Daichi but also save the world from impending doom.

Bakuten Shoot Beyblade the Movie was screened alongside Saru Getchu Movie: Ougon no Pipo Helmet - Ukki Battle. The two movies were previewed during an event on August 11, 2002, before opening to the public on August 17.
