The Boys Ping Pong Club at Inaho Jr. High has only six members, which is the minimum requirement for the club. Takeda is described as a typical nice guy, while Kinoshita is known for being good-looking and popular among girls. However, the rest of the team is considered to be underdogs or losers. Tanabe is seen as too foreign, while Tanaka is portrayed as petite and perverse. Maeno and Izawa are depicted as truly deviant individuals whose antics have made them powerful enemies. Despite their differences, it's important for the team to work together in order to maintain their practice room and club status at Inaho Jr. High.

Ike! Ina-chuu Takkyuu-bu consists of 26 episodes; however, each episode is divided into two 12-minute segments, leading some streaming services to partition the show into 52 episodes. This occurs on the DVD releases as well, although the North American release confused certain two-part episodes, with its episode count at 47. The DVD set consists of five uniquely-named volumes, with certain episodes appearing on their own respective discs.
