Strike Witches OVA  

In the 1940s, Earth was attacked by an alien force called the "Neuroi." The world suffered greatly due to the destruction caused. However, one man managed to create a weapon known as the "Striker unit" that augmented magical power and allowed flight through two mechanical lower-leg coverings. This invention became known as witches' brooms. Young witches from around the world banded together to fight back in a force called Strike Witches. The inventor of the Striker unit was thought to have been killed during service, but his daughter lived a relatively normal life with incredible magical power that she hoped to use for healing one day. Suddenly, she was whisked away on a search to find out if her father was actually alive. She encountered his invention and the possibility of using it herself.

A promotional DVD with prototype animation for Strike Witches was sold by Toranoana at Comiket 71 on December 29, 2006. That DVD was packaged with a PVC figure of Yoshika Miyafuji and an illustration book of Humikane Shimadas works titled Strikes. The package was later sold at Toranoana stores on January 1, 2007.
