ホウセンカ, The Last Blossom

In autumn of 2023, an elderly prisoner named Akutsu is facing a lonely death in his solitary cell. As he reflects on his past, he is visited by a talking flower that reminds him of his rotten life choices. This conversation prompts Akutsu to think about his past. In summer of 1986, Akutsu is living with Nana, his six-year-younger partner, and her son Kensuke in a rundown apartment with a garden full of touch-me-not flowers. One night, a dying yakuza makes a triumphant return, and his story is told by a flower that blooms in prison.
