The initial Captain Tsubasa film centers on a competition between two soccer teams, one from Europe and the other from Japan. This occurs near the conclusion of the television series' first season. Upon their arrival in Europe, the Japanese team encounters athletes with abilities unlike anything they have previously experienced.
