In Japan during the 20th Century Expo, adults were fascinated by theme parks that recreated the atmosphere of the 1970s. On one day, all the grown-ups vanished into these parks, leaving their children behind. This was orchestrated by Yesterday Once More, an organization with a strong dislike for modern times and a desire to return Japan to its past glory through nostalgia and optimism. Shinnosuke and his parents, Hiroshi and Misae, join forces in opposition to the plans of Yesterday Once More, determined to preserve their family's place in the 21st century.
