In the sequel to DaCapo on PlayStation 2, the narrative returns to Hatsunejima after a time gap of 53 years since the events of D.C. and D.C.S.S. Although some characters may be recognizable to those familiar with the original series, the cast is entirely new. The main protagonist in this version is Yoshiyuki Sakurai, who resides next door to the Asakura sisters Yume and Otome, who are the granddaughters of Junichi and Nemu from the first season.
