Takumi Fujiwara, who spent his summer competing with top racers in Gunma, receives a formal challenge from Ryousuke Takahashi, leader of Akagi Red Suns. Although hesitant at first, Takumi is thrilled at the prospect of going up against Ryousuke, known as "White Comet of Akagi." In preparation for the contest, Ryousuke reduces the power of his car, risking both his pride and career. At stake is the title of the fastest driver in all of Gunma. Can Takumi with his panda-colored Toyota AE86 defeat Ryousuke's Mazda RX-7 FC?
