In a future time period, "the world" serves as a mediator for peace among nations. despite its unknown location, it has been monitoring earth's conflicts for centuries, resulting in war becoming nothing more than a myth. norn is an airship tasked with transporting nine individuals with special abilities to the world. after collecting the last passenger, norn takes off, carrying eight men and three women, including koharu, who overcomes her loneliness but despises her destructive powers; mikoto kuga, born into a noble family, uses her barrier skill to safeguard the norn and its passengers; and nanami shiranui, whose ability only causes pain and regrets a past wrongdoing. as they travel, suspicions arise among the group when they notice there are too many people onboard. they attempt to identify who has stowed away, but their journey is disrupted by an unknown attacker determined to halt norn's progress at any cost. this leads to questions about the purpose of their abilities and what they must accomplish once they arrive at the world.
