In 2002, the first underwater train between America and Japan, known as the Marine Express, was set to make its debut voyage. The head engineer believed that the test run of the train would be used for illegal activities, so he hired private detective Ban Shunsaku to investigate. Upon arriving at his client's mansion, Shunsaku discovered that he had been murdered. With only a brief glimpse of the murderer's face, Shunsaku boarded the Marine Express in an attempt to solve the mystery. However, this investigation proved to be much more complex than he anticipated, as the train held secrets beyond anyone's imagination.
