Since Alphamon's appearance in Odaiba, progress has been made slowly towards restoration efforts. Meanwhile, Mimi excitedly announces her plans to take a dip in a hot spring after returning to Japan. To welcome their new members Meiko and Meicoomon, the DigiDestined visit a nearby theme park featuring hot springs. Everyone enjoys themselves, but Joe is absent due to his college entrance exams and responsibilities as a DigiDestined.
Mimi expresses her frustration with the situation, asking "Why do we have to do this again?" Just then, Ogremon, an infected virus-type Digimon, appears in Odaiba. The TV station broadcasts his rampage, prompting Mimi and Palmon to spring into action. Despite Koushirou's attempts to hold them back, their battle results in unforeseen consequences.
Joe and Mimi each face their own challenges. On the day of Tsukishima General High School's festival, a mysterious figure appears before them, signaling the continuation of their adventure.
