After completing high school, Gorou Honda aims to become a professional baseball player. His aspirations go beyond just playing in the Japanese Baseball League; he wants to compete in the Major League, which is where the sport was born. To achieve this goal, Gorou decides to move to America, the birthplace of baseball. However, Gorou soon discovers that Major League players are much faster, stronger, and more driven than he is. Despite this, he remains determined to catch up with them. In order to do so, Gorou must first conquer the ranks of the Minor League, where many talented players compete in a grueling journey towards the Majors. Gorou joins the Memphis Bats and realizes that he will have to adapt to the significant differences between American culture and push himself to new limits as his quest to join the Major League begins.
