Humans can be categorized into two groups: those who live for their daily lives and those who serve the deceased. The latter group's purpose is to fulfill the last wishes of ghosts who died with regrets. In the case of Baili Dengfeng, his sole mission in this world is to locate his missing wife Ruyan. During his journey, he encounters Jia Xuan, whose family was murdered and seeks revenge; Liang You, a mischievous and adoring individual; and Liang Yuan, who doubts everything excessively. As the story unfolds, Dengfeng learns about Spirit Masters and Spirit Slaves and becomes involved with "Spirits Expelling Order," a mystical group. The more mysteries are unraveled, the closer the truth comes to Dengfeng, who may not wish to confront the full extent of it.
