In ancient times, Riku was a young warrior who sought to save humanity from warring Exceed species. These sixteen sentient beings were fighting for dominance over the "One True God" among the Old Deus. The lack of magic and weak bodies made humans vulnerable targets for other Exceed, pushing them close to extinction in a lawless land. However, hope emerged when Riku discovered Schwi, a powerful female Ex-machina, in an abandoned elf city. She had been exiled from her Cluster due to research into human emotions and believed that humanity's survival was based on these feelings. Together with Schwi, Riku must overcome their individual weaknesses and understand the true meaning of being human as they fight against all odds for their lives and the future of Disboard. With new allies at their side, they will strive to prevent extinction and establish peace throughout the realm.
