The Holy British Empire is a dominant country that uses its military might to expand its rule, and the small island nation of Japan has become another victim during a global conflict known as the Second Pacific War in 2010. Despite being reduced to ruins and renamed Area 11, one student named Lelouch Lamperouge plans to free Japan from British control through an extraordinary rebellion. Driven by hatred for the Empire, Lelouch devises a plan to wipe its name off the planet. However, his plans are unexpectedly accelerated when he meets the mysterious woman C.C., who grants him a supernatural ability called "Geass" that makes anyone under his command unable to disobey his will. As Zero, a revolutionary figure representing the hopes and dreams of the oppressed worldwide, Lelouch vows to restore Japan's glory and deliver divine retribution to Britannia.

The movie premiered in Japan on October 21, 2017 at 79 theatres nationwide. It grossed ¥67 million its opening night.
