Although kashou minazuki has six catgirls including his sister shigure, he decides to leave home to open his patisserie la soleil. during unpacking, he discovers that two of his catgirls, chocola and vanilla, have hidden themselves in his luggage. despite their desire to stay with him, kashou is unsure if he can manage both his new business and the two catgirls. however, with the help of his caring sister and loyal catgirls, kashou puts all his effort into making his dream a reality.

In July 2016, Sekai Project announced that it would be running a Kickstarter campaign to fund an all-ages Nekopara original video animation adaptation based on the visual novel of the same name; the campaign ended in March 2017, raising US$1,049,552.
