The persona century corporation owns almost all the land on earth and does not tolerate dissent within its borders. those who oppose persona are dealt with quickly. among the few places that haven't been taken over by persona is kabuki-cho, also known as "the dark side of tokyo." this town is led by a woman named mai and has a small resistance group called messiah. a man who goes by the name of kabuki-cho: darkside returns to aid messiah after being sealed away in another dimension for eighteen years. he possesses a unique mystic power that allows him to renew things, which he uses to help messiah in their fight against persona century.
