The series is based on the novel "Oam Monogatari," which follows the life of a young woman named Oam during the Sengoku Era. As the daughter of Yamada Kyoreki, who served as a vassal to warlord Ishida Mitsunari, Oam's story offers a unique perspective on the lives of noblewomen during this tumultuous period. The anime interweaves past and present events, exploring Oam's struggles at Ogaki Castle, which would later become the site of the Battle of Sekigahara that solidified Tokugawa as the shogunate. Additionally, the series delves into how Oam and her mother managed to escape in the dead of night.
