In the morning, Nobita discovers strange events occurring on the moon. He shares this with his classmates, but they don't believe him. To prove his point, Nobita attempts to mimic the moon rabbits by making rice cakes. Unfortunately, this leads him to accidentally hit his teacher, resulting in punishment. When Nobita confides in Doraemon, the latter reluctantly uses his "Divergent View Badge" gadget to create an atmosphere on the moon. With animal clay, they create Moonbit and return home. Later, Nobita's mother asks him to bring Susuki grass for a moon viewing ceremony. During this ceremony, Nobita sees a boy and calls out to him, but the boy suddenly disappears. The next day, a new student named Luca enrolls at school, much to Nobita's surprise as he recognizes him as the same boy from yesterday.
