However, when it was displayed at an exhibition in Marina Sands hotel in Singapore, a murder took place. A bloody announcement card from Kaitou Kid was found at the crime scene. Meanwhile, Ran and Sonoko traveled to Singapore for a karate tournament, while Conan was supposed to stay home due to lack of a passport. However, Kid used a magical trick to forcefully bring Conan to Singapore, stealing his glasses, wristwatch, clothes, among other things. Conan had to disguise himself as Arthur Hirai in order to get back home. Kid eventually learned that the "fist" was being stored in a manor's underground vault. However, he faced a dangerous trap when he arrived at the vault - Makoto Kyogoku, the strongest karateka with 400 consecutive victories, was waiting for him.
