Following their successful win against Shiratorizawa Academy, the Karasuno High School volleyball team has finally earned their long-awaited ticket to nationals. As preparations begin, Tobio Kageyama is invited to attend the All-Japan Youth Training Camp alongside other nationally recognized players. Meanwhile, Kei Tsukishima receives an invitation to a special rookie training camp for first-years within Miyagi Prefecture. Unfortunately, Shouyou Hinata does not receive any invitations, but he does not let this discourage him. Instead, he decides to sneak himself into Tsukishima's rookie training camp. Although Hinata lands himself a job as a ball boy, he sees this as a valuable opportunity to learn from experienced players and improve his own skills on the court. As the national tournament approaches, the members of Karasuno's volleyball team work hard to overcome their weaknesses and perfect their game in order to reach the top.
