A student at Amemaru Middle School who later transferred to Karasuno High and joined their volleyball team. He served as the captain of the volleyball club during his time in middle school. Despite being older, he practiced diligently and often stayed behind others to get more training. Kei admired Akiteru greatly and was hesitant to tell him when he was benched. However, this continued until one day when Kei discovered that Akiteru wasn't playing in a Karasuno match.
