Poemy's classmate and best friend, Futaba, has a deep romantic interest in her-an emotion that often escapes Poemy's notice. With her unique ability to calm hostile creatures, Futaba can turn even the most aggressive beings into harmless friends. It was thanks to Poemy that she was rescued from extraterrestrial captivity and brought back to Earth. By combining her powers with Poemy's representation of our planet, Futaba brings peace to its inhabitants. Her name is derived from "futa" (meaning "two"), similar to the character Tomoyo Daidouji from Cardcaptor Sakura, who was also in love with her magical girl friend. While Futaba shares this sentiment, she struggles with jealousy towards Poemy's romantic interest in another being. Although she indulges in fantasies beyond what is shown in the spirit of the show, Futabas dreams go a lot further than Tomoyo's encouragement of Sakuras love for Cardcaptor Sakura.
