Tōichirō Kanae is the priest at Ame no Kisaki school, where he teaches Modern Japanese to students. He has a reputation for being very attractive among his pupils. Despite this, he appears to have romantic feelings towards multiple individuals including Mariya, Matsurika and Ayari. Kanako seems to be of particular interest to him due to her unusual behavior in his eyes, as well as the fact that she was the only student who failed the Modern Japanese exams. This has led Tōichirō to become deeply concerned about her well-being. He is also similar to Kanako in terms of certain mannerisms and thought patterns. For example, he sometimes begins sentences with "Skipped, Dear mama in heaven..." and tends to overthink even the most trivial matters. Additionally, like Kanako, Tōichirō enjoys admiring beautiful women. It's worth noting that Tōichirō is half-French.
