Otama jackson is a large black tadpole with distinctive features such as googly eyes, a long tail, and a wide red-lipped mouth equipped with sharp teeth. he serves eruka faithfully and diligently, even at the expense of his own safety. his primary function is to act as a mount for eruka, utilizing his size and flying capabilities to aid her in various tasks. despite being an excellent familiar, otama jackson has low stamina and cannot engage in combat, making him vulnerable to attack. unlike other witches and their familiars, eruka and otama jackson share a close bond, with eruka expressing concern for his well-being even when it means sacrificing her own mission objectives. this strong friendship is reciprocated by otama jackson's unwavering loyalty to eruka. during the black blood reawakening mission, otama jackson bravely helps eruka retrieve the needle, despite being beaten up by black star in the process. eruka deeply regrets this decision and decides to prioritize jackson's safety for the remainder of the mission.
