In the anime series, Ash's first Pokémon was Charmander, whom he found injured and alone after being abandoned by its previous owner Damian because it was deemed too weak. Despite this setback, under Ash's care, Charmander made significant progress and evolved into a Charmeleon. However, this evolution came at the cost of altering his once cheerful demeanor. Meanwhile, in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Charmander is part of a rescue team with Chikorita, where he will request Squirtle's assistance to aid other Pokémon in need.
