Pichu is a small rodent-like creature with pale yellow fur and black ears, collar, tail tips, and nose. Its cheek pouches can store electricity, while its tiny nose resembles a dot. Despite being classified as a quadruped, Pichu can easily walk on hind legs. Known for their playful and mischievous nature, Pichus are often found in groups and touch tails to show courage, creating sparks that may make them cry. Although they're not skilled at storing electricity, they can discharge if amused, startled, or subjected to shock, but only when shocked themselves. Charging is easier on days of dryness or with thunderclouds, and Pichu generates audible static electricity. An adult human can be zapped by Pichu, but it may surprise itself if it does so. Pichu primarily lives in forests but has also been depicted thriving in urban areas. There's an alternate form called Spiky-eared Pichu, which is female-only and features three spikes on the ear tip. Pichu and its evolved forms are the only known Pokémon capable of learning Volt Tackle.
