In the story "Mermaid's Scar," there is a character named Yukie who works as a maid at Misa's house. She takes great care of Masato, whom she likes very much. When Yukie decides to leave her job to get married, Masato offers her a piece of mermaid's flesh in exchange for taking Misa's place as his companion. However, after accepting the offer, Yukie turns into a lost soul and is eventually killed by Yuta.
