The father of Leon and leader of the Bartfort household, Balcus Fou Bartfort is known for being both nurturing and disciplined towards his kids. He tends to be reserved and deferential when interacting with those in positions of authority.

Balcus was born as a member of the Bartfort Household, which owned a fair amount of land despite not being nobility. In his fathers generation, the Bartfort family was given the title of Baron, which they couldnt refuse. Balcus had to pick a suitable spouse for his newly appointed status, so Balcus was forced to marry Zola.
