Rachel is the leader of research and development for bahram's oribital frame project. along with dolores hayes, she was kidnapped by an invading unsf team who planned to bring her back to earth to develop orbital frame technology for them instead of bahram. after witnessing dolores' death during a failed rescue attempt, dr. links was also taken away. it was believed that rachel had died in 2167 after idolo, despite her love for james. her commitment to helping mars gain independence from earth's oppression led her to leave him, even though she was sometimes naive like her husband.
