Saki was a renowned pianist in Japan who was Kousei Arima's mother. She pushed her son to play until he was exhausted, sometimes physically abusing him for minor errors. Her ultimate goal was for Kousei to fulfill her dream of becoming a famous pianist and being self-sufficient after she passed away.
