Rygart is the main character in the series at 25 years old. Unlike most people in the world, he cannot use magic because he was born an un-sorcerer. Before leaving to meet Hodr, he worked on a farm with his brother who also lacked magical abilities. To help them feel stronger and less isolated, their father sold all Quartz-operated tools and used non-Quartz tools instead. After taking out loans, Rygart attended Assam military school where he befriended Zess, Hodr, and Sigyn, who became known as "the four problem children of Assams Military School." Despite hating violence, Rygart later piloted the Delphine, an ancient Golem designed exclusively for un-sorcerers as a Heavy Knight for Krisna. Initially, he joined the army to protect his brother and friends, but later realized that he was truly fighting to safeguard Sigyn, whom he deeply loved. As the story progressed, Rygart came to understand the harsh reality of war: "Kill or be killed." After witnessing the death of a dear friend and companion in battle, he became more decisive and ruthless in his fight.
