Roan is a swordsman who aims to become powerful enough to safeguard his childhood friend, Yufa. At some point, he feels like he has fallen short and goes off on his own to enhance himself. Following an encounter in Byalan, Roan reappears as a Crusader and rescues Yufa. Nevertheless, as the narrative unfolds, Roan becomes increasingly distant from his mission.
