Anubis is the king's most trusted advisor, responsible for managing some of the king's affairs. As a child, Anubis had high expectations to become the king's right-hand man due to his lineage as an heir. However, he grew up without any parental love or affection from his father who was always with the previous king and his mother is not mentioned at all. He later served as Leonhart's companion as a child. At one point, Anubis became ill because of a weak constitution, which was noted by maids outside his room. After Leonhart was injured protecting him from an attack and subsequently escaped and got rescued by a search party, Anubis' attitude changed dramatically. He vowed to be loyal to Leonhart even if it meant losing the "Warth" he felt from their friendship. As a result, he accepted his role as Anubis and lost his old name.
