Ren and Ai are two sisters who attend Koutas school as first-year students. First appearing in the fifth volume of the novels, they live at a temple with limited resources. As spirit hunters, they often engage in activities associated with homeless people such as cooking with discarded materials or consuming leftover bread crusts. Initially, their mission was to eliminate Chizuru, but they abandoned this task due to her youth. Despite minor differences in hair styles, the sisters are almost identical and employ chains during attacks.
