After finishing his studies at a renowned racing school in the UK, Kanata journeyed to Japan, the land of his father's birth. Although he had the goal of locating his estranged dad, Kanata joined MFG and raced under the name "Kanata Katagiri," utilizing his father's last name instead of his mother's. This action might have been an effort to draw attention to himself and inform his father about his presence in Japan. When not engaged in racing or preparing for it, Kanata devotes time to searching for information regarding his dad's whereabouts.
