Misaki is the main character in Kaichou wa Maid-sama! and resides with her mother and younger sister Suzuna due to her father's abandonment, which resulted in a significant debt. As a result of this unfortunate circumstance, she harbors a deep animosity towards most boys except for those who exhibit gentlemanly behavior. Misaki attends Seika High School, an institution that has recently transitioned from being exclusively male to co-educational, with 80% of the student body comprising males and 20% females. In her quest to safeguard the interests of girls, she strived relentlessly to ascend to the position of Student Council President. However, Misaki harbors a clandestine secret: in order to assist her mother in repaying her father's debt, she holds down a part-time job at a maid cafe. She is keen to keep this hidden from her schoolmates because she fears that if they become aware of it, her status as Student Council President may be compromised.
