In the story, Ashil, also known as Basil in the English dub, follows Hao and takes on Boris's role of being the first victim of the Archangels. Despite his arrogance, he believed that killing Yoh and his friends would be simple due to their easily regenerating spirits. It was later revealed that Ashil harbored deep feelings for Hao, which caused him to become jealous of Hao's interest in Yoh. This led him to disobey Hao by attempting to "accidentally" kill Yoh when he was instructed to ensure his survival. Ultimately, Ashil met his end at the hands of the X-Laws.
