In school, kanata is well-liked by both boys and girls due to his good appearance. soon after miyu moves in with him, his father announces that he plans to embark on a yearlong journey to india for spiritual enlightenment, which means kanata and miyu will have to live together under the same roof. at first, they struggle to keep their relationship a secret while attending school together. however, as time passes, kanata discovers that miyu is his childhood friend and grows fonder of her. despite this, he continues to tease her playfully to conceal his true feelings. his mother passed away when he was young, and his favorite food is pumpkin, which comes in various forms such as squash and chips. luu also refers to kanata as "papa" because he resembles luus real father. in the end, kanata marries miyu and they raise their daughter, miu, at the temple.
