Ho-Oh is an avian Pokémon that resembles both a phoenix and a peacock, featuring predominantly gold and red feathers, yellow tail-feathers, a white underside, green feathers at the tip of its wings, and a green stripe on its neck. Its beak is yellow, eyes are black with rings around them, head has a feathered crest that's yellow in color, and it possesses prismatic wings which trail a rainbow behind it when flying. Ho-Oh has darkly colored feet and legs with four toes and long talons. This Pokémon is known as the guardian of the skies and can resurrect the dead. It was previously capable of learning Sacred Fire, but this move is no longer available in later generations. When it flies, its huge wings create bright rainbows that fill the sky. Witnessing Ho-Oh brings eternal happiness to a select few lucky individuals. In the past, Ho-Oh perched atop various towers across Johto region, including the Bell Tower and Goldenrod Tower in ancient times. Now it is believed to fly through the world's skies seeking out Trainers with pure hearts.
