Lapras is a marine reptilian Pokémon that looks like a plesiosaur with a blue hide and cream-colored underside. It has large brown eyes, a short horn on its forehead, curled ears, long neck, four flippers, and two larger foremost flippers. Its back has a heavy gray shell covered in blunt knobs. Lapras is gentle and helpful, but it was once hunted to near-extinction due to its docility. Now, it's overabundant and affecting fish Pokémon numbers in some areas. It can understand human speech and travels in large pods across the seas. To communicate with others of its kind, Lapras sings enchanting melodies. In the anime, Lapras has psychic abilities like telepathy. As Gigantamax Lapras, it becomes larger and more armored, resembling a cruise ship or ocarina with four gray and red stripes surrounding it, and four spikes on top of its shell, including one steel spike resembling a funnel with three red clouds surrounding it. The sclera in Lapras's eyes change colors to white, yellow, and blue, and a light blue ring of fine thin lines resembling a musical sheet created from ice particles circles around its shell.
