The Princess of Torumekia is the youngest daughter of the Vai Emperor and a member of the royal family. In the anime, she lost one of her arms during an Ohmu attack when she was young, which fueled her desire for revenge against the giant insects. She aims to eradicate the Sea of Corruption from existence at any cost, making her an antagonist in the story. However, in the manga, her role is more complex and can be seen as that of an antihero/ally rather than a full-blown villain. The Princess's main motivation is revenge against her father and three older half-brothers, whom she holds responsible for her mother's fate. She leads the Torumekian Third Army, which she trained herself, and has a deep devotion to her soldiers, who are fiercely loyal to her. Despite being ruthless in battle, the Princess possesses a sense of nobility that earns her respect from both Nausicaä and Master Yupa. Although she admires Nausicaä's pacifist ideals, she believes that her own path is one of bloodshed due to her destiny as a member of the royal family.
