Tadayasu Souemon Sawaki is the main character in Moyashimon, who studies at an agricultural university in Tokyo as a freshman. His middle name is his family's yagō, which is often omitted, so he is commonly known as "Tadayasu Sawaki". Tadayasu has been friends with Kei Yūki since childhood and his parents own a mold starter producer. He possesses the ability to communicate with bacteria and other microorganisms.
