In the manga, there's a young girl named Matsuri who goes by the nickname "Mats" and wears glasses. She has a pet ferret called John and is depicted as having a shy personality. Matus often becomes the target of teasing from Mius, which can lead her to cry and seek refuge in Nobue's company. Matsuri is one grade below Chika and Miu and attends the same class as Ana, with whom she quickly forms a friendship. She discovers that Ana is fluent in Japanese and helps her hide both her language skills from their classmates and her lack of proficiency in English. In the anime, Matsuri has gray hair, while in the manga, her hair is white.
