Misakis mother is portrayed as being somewhat unwell, but she does her utmost to care for her daughters Misaki and Suzuna by working as a nurse at the hospital. Despite being appreciative of Misakis efforts in helping with their financial difficulties, she wishes that her daughter could have more fun and spend more time socializing outside of school as a typical high school teenager. In chapter 35, she meets Usui at the train station and perceives him to be a kind-hearted individual who is completely different from her husband.
